Coming out of our shell...

Life: a series of changes; most often bad changes occur, so that good changes can take over.

Last night, the drummer, that I have been playing music with for two years, gave up his rhythmic throne. There have been many positive changes in his personal life recently, causing him to focus a bit more closely on the more secure things in his life. In affect and overtime, he started to loose sight and interest in the band. Our music, as well as his personal life, became shakey and was beginning to suffer. A decision had to be made. We mutually agree that it was the right path to take. However, he will be greatly missed, as a good friend, on those practice nights and such; his humor and stories will no longer be able to make us laugh on our breaks, and inbetween songs.

John, like all drummers, can be compared to the shell of an egg; his job was to hold our music together, keep it organized and contained. We can best describe this eggshell to be like the eggshell of a fish. He has broken the seal, so now we are able come out and swim around and begin to grow. Our hopes are for the new drummer to be more like a fishtail than an eggshell. We expect the new drummer to set direction and rate of speed, so that we can flow more smoothly through this ocean we call music.

We have not decided on a drummer, yet. If you, or someone you know, are interested, please feel free to get in contact with one of us. We are looking for someone good humored, laid-back but willing to work and practice. Someone with not an extremely busy schedule, they must have their own drum kit, as well. A novice drummer will fit in best with us, someone that has had training, and at least played on a drum kit for a year or two, but not someone so seasoned that they will become bored with us. Basically, just someone we can easily learn and grow with, we are still figuring things out ourselves.

So once again, if you or someone you know fit this profile, and want to be in a band, please, get in touch with us.
